Nanna Vilborg Harðardóttir
IMLA graduate
Iceland
"Choosing the IMLA programme was one of the best decisions of my career. What makes it so special is how it brings together people from all over the world to work on real, practical projects that prepare you for professional life.
Two of the most crucial takeaways for my career today were strong project management skills and the understanding that nature, especially water, has no boundaries. Focusing on waterscapes during my studies completely changed how I look at my work. Today, I have become one of the leading experts in Blue-Green infrastructure in Iceland and serve as Project Manager for the EU funded LIFE-Icewater project in my municipality, a role I could never have undertaken without the knowledge and thinking I gained at IMLA. I still use something from every single class in my daily work. On top of the great practical tools, IMLA was just a warm and friendly place to learn, where I made life-long friends from different cultures. It didn't just teach me landscape architecture, it gave me the skills and confidence to actually make a difference."
