This year’s LE:NOTRE Institute student competition with the title 'Exploring Tartu Emajõgi and its watercourses' asked for new and future-oriented planning and design proposals for the city of Tartu, Estonia. It was part of the 13th LE:NOTRE Landscape Forum hosted by the Estonian University of Life Sciences in Tartu in summer 2024.
Two student teams of the International Master of Landscape Architecture (IMLA) programme were very successful in this international competition:
The team Caroline de Vries, Malavika Mohan Das, Mahan Esmaeili Zavieh and Ernesto Velasquez Gonzalez won the first price with their contribution 'Weaving with Water'.
Additionally, another IMLA team (Ruba Khaled Al-Hamzi, Asfia Islam, Shamim Rokhsari, Diana Salazar) with the contribution ' Symbiotic Tartu' received an honourable mention.
Congratulations to both teams!
